Vintage lookalike: Equipment floral top

This floral button down top was one of my favorite Iowa finds along with a couple of other cool tops that will be at hunt.gather.style.  The print reminds me of an Equipment top that I almost splurged for and am glad I didn't!

Jcrew vintage/thrifted look-alikes

I love J.crew, but mostly J.crew on sale.  As I've written about before, I adore thrifting and recently the ladies and I at hunt.gather.style have been thrilled to find similar J.crew look-alikes at an affordable price and sometimes even in vintage condition.  Here are a couple of items we'll have in our October shop--if you're local, please do come by and say hi.  And if you're not, what are you waiting for?  Get to your nearest thrift shop and start searching! :)

Vintage lookalike: Anthropologie Sailboat Skirt

When I first saw the sailboat skirt at Anthropologie, I immediately had visions of stripes and boat shoes dancing around in my head (versus sugar plums).  It is a relatively good price point for a skirt as well but somehow I resisted and went hunting instead for a vintage version.  I found this skirt for a steal and I think it makes a nice substitution for the Anthropologie version.  There's a similar one on etsy if you're interested (at about half the cost of the Anthropologie one)

Vintage Lookalike: Lina Rennell triangle top

A cold front moved in one day last week and lowered temperatures considerably.  By Texas standards, that meant that it was a high of 90 degrees and we all rejoiced and broke out our seldom worn cold weather items.  I pulled out a pair of cuffed jeans that I thought I wouldn't see till October and paired it with a favorite thrift/vintage find.  I have been in love with Lina Rennell's triangle print for a long time and was so pleased to find this top in a similar fun print.

Vintage lookalike: Zara maxi skirt

I really love the bright spring and summer colors at Zara stores this season.  I got this pink maxi skirt and adore it so much and was delighted to find a blue version at a thrift store.  It probably is from the 90s era so technically not vintage but a score at $5 all the same.  It's a perfect length to wear with flat sandals and the blue has been surprisingly versatile to pair with various colors (white, grey, forest green, orange, etc.)

Vintage lookalike: Madewell Sightseer Skirt

When Madewell came out with the Sightseer skirt, there were screams of joy for it's flattering fit, length and lightweight fabric and alternate screams of outrage comparing it to mom jeans and "something I wore in the 80s".

Since I too was squealing in joy but not exactly excited about the price, I thought I'd keep an eye out for a vintage or thrifted version.  Lo and behold, on a fun thrifting day with Sydney, I came across this version--it has a similar silhouette though in a black denim, which while not my first choice, the 95% price discount helped make up the difference.
