Rainy Day pullover

This top is a bit voluminous, but the hot air balloon print sold me.  Plus I can smuggle a whole sushi dinner under there.

Only Hearts tulip wrap dress

This tulip print dress is probably my first purchase from Anthropologie from many years ago and it gets a ton of use.  Loving these new wedges found by Sydney, just the perfect two tone summer shoe I'd been looking for!  Thanks S!

Teal skirt

This teal skirt immediately caught my eye at an estate sale and after a quick hemming, it went from sister wife to a more contemporary length.  The fabric is actually a little nubby and the weight and drape of the material is perfect.  I'll be pairing this with stripes next when the weather warms up!

Jcrew keeper chambray shirt

Another button down and skirt outfit today!  You know I love a good deal, but I bought this Jcrew keeper chambray shirt at almost close to retail and haven't regretted it.  I reach for it all the time and am always thinking of new ways to pair it with my existing wardrobe.  Do you have a piece like this that you would wear all the time if you didn't think anyone would notice?

Hi There From Karen Walker -- coming soon to Anthropologie!

Mark your calendars!  Anthropologie will be getting the amazing Hi There from Karen Walker diffusion line in March!  I love my Karen Walker blazer and am looking forward to this new line (especially since it's full of fun polka dots!)

Never say never

Two years ago,  if you had told me that I would have an obsession with clogs and that I'd be sporting skinny leg pants and a vest, I would have given you my patented "are you crazy?" look.  Well here I am, admitting that clogs are awesome and though I feel self conscious in my skinny pants, at least I have a long vest to hide my posterior.

Be kind to your feet

Found this lone outfit picture from last week on my camera today.  The reason my feet are cropped out is because I left my shoes in the car and didn't want to take off my beloved Ugg moccasins that I wear on the drive home.  You know I love a good comfort shoe and these are simply the best.

Madewell pillar skirt

Am loving this Madewell pillar skirt but it got all sorts of crinkly from a day at work.  It doesn't help that when I sit at my desk, I usually cross a foot under (half criss cross applesauce) so that's why you see the wrinkles at the bottom of the skirt as well.  Some people just can't have nice things...

Comfy outfit

I got myself out of bed this morning by promising that I could wear a sweatshirt to work today.  This particular sweatshirt from Anthropologie is super cozy and cropped, perfect to wear with skirts.  I've worn this Candace Ang necklace numerous times but haven't remembered to take a detail shot till now.  It has little brass dipped quills, very cool and of course I had to copy Grechen when I saw hers.

In conversation

Me: The cashier just called me "m'am!"  Do I look like a "m'am"??
BK:  Well you do dress like a grandma...
(for reference I was wearing this outfit)

More plaid

Here's a solo outfit pic snapped from our trip to Missouri.  It was a warm and sunny 40 degrees when we were up there which makes me laugh b/c if it's 40 in Austin, I'm in bed under the heat blanket.  Hope everyone had a good time with family and friends this holiday season!

Anthropologie sweater sale

Anthropologie is having a great 50% off sale on full priced sweaters and outerwear today and tomorrow!  I've imbibed a bit too much already with all the great sales so I'm not sure if I'm going to partake in this one, but just in case, here are a few goodies I'm eyeing...

L-R:
Angled Boucle Cardigan--looks so soft and cozy and I love the cropped length which is great over dresses!
Shallop Pullover--yay stripes!  This sweater is super soft and has these cute buttons running down the side
Cloud Knit Sweatercoat--I'll need about a 2nd cut sale before this one is within my price range.  It seems like it would be super versatile (just like my Downy Loops vest!)

L-R:

Kites and Constellations Cardigan--a unique twist to your basic navy cardigan.  Love the constellations detail!
Cashmere Boatneck--the name says it all: cashmere with an interesting funnel boat neck
Winking Sky Cardigan--cardgan + beading = grandma approved!

Are you excited about anything from the Anthropologie sweater/outerwear sale?

Downy Loops Vest

I snapped up this cozy vest at Anthropologie's Black Friday sale and have hopes that it will be the most versatile piece in my wardrobe this winter.  I'm looking forward to pairing it with maxi skirts and dresses and worn over button down tops and sweaters.  As for my thermal tee in this picture, I'm usually not a pink girl, but somehow I make the exception for neon pink!

Jcrew Blythe top

I patiently waited for this Blythe silk blouse to go on sale but the problem is, now it's just a bit too chilly to wear silk!  I felt like I was putting on an ice cube in the morning.  Maybe next time I'll try a cami underneath?

Ships in the night

Just a simple button down and pants outfit for the work week.  I've discovered another addiction, one that might rival my cardigan, belt and dress addictions.  I introduce to you--the humble button down.  They can be silk, cotton or flannel; plaid, checked or quirky--I'll take them all! (and some better lighting for these pictures)
